Rowlf on Moving Day

Rowlf likes paper

House Picture

I don't really have any of the inside of the house since we moved in, but here's what it looks like from the front. Imagine that I bothered to turn the image around...This really isn't a good picture. I'll make a point of getting some better ones.

Vacation Pics

Yes, this is from about two months ago...it took me a while to get around to down loading the pictures. First one is Steve by the grass courts at the tennis hall of fame in Newport. 2nd is thsi cool riverfire thing they do in Providence. In your ever there I recommend it...a ton of people show up and it turns into a giant party. 3rd is me by the ocean.

school makes me sick

So, I've fallen victim to the major hazard of working in a school...I got whatever cold has been going around. I feel a little better today, but not great. I've used this as a reason (excuse) not to run. I have still done some other stuff. Steve's parents are in town the weekend too, so that is additionally reducing the chances that I accomplish any real physical therapy. The schedule at Spectrum has changed and my physical therapist doesn't stay late right now, so I have to step up and do everything on my own for a couple weeks. This means getting into the weight room at school. It shouldn't be a big deal...none of the sports teams are currently using it on a regular basis, so there shouldn't be too many people in there at once.

Interim grades are due on Tuesday so I have to somehow get everything grading and in the computer by then. I'm usually pretty good about keeping on top of grades, but I somehow ended up having multiple large assignments all turned in at about the same time and now I have a ton to do for both biology and environmental science. I'm trying to get some done now, and I'll probably do some more while watching football tomorrow.

I tried running this morning, but my knee started hurting so I stoped after 3/4 of a mile. I did do some strength stuff though, and that went well. Overall PT for the week was good. I don't have anything scheduled for next week yet. I am going to start using the weight room at school a couple times a week and go to PT less.

Doctor appointment went well on Monday. I got hte OK to do most things at TKD as long as I didn them slowly. I'm not suppose to pivot or start or stop quickly. I pretty much just suppose to keep building quad strength until he's sure that the graft has healed all the way. I will be building up activity over the next two months and then hopefully when I go back to see him in November I'll get the go ahead to do whatever I can.

The weather is great. Rowlf actually likes being outside now that it isn't so hot. We're going over to my parent's today to watch football in High Def. Go Bengals! (Edited post game: Boo Defense!!)

I've actually started running. Not jogging at 4mph, but actual running. It's really fast or far, but it at least feels like real exercise. Yesterday I ran for 20 minutes. I've gotten up to 6.5 mph without any real pain. I've also been able to do some more forms at tkd. I can kick better, but I'm still not pivoting on my right leg or snapping any kicks. I go back to the doctor Monday, so hopefully that will go well.

The house and Rowlf are both doing well. We still have a few boxes that need to be unpacked, but for the most part everything is coming together. I'll try to get some pictures of the house up.

School is also going well. I have a ton of grading this weekend.
